Permissable Vessel Types – Notice from the Lock Office

Over recent weeks the Marina Lock Office have been receiving all manner of requests from residents to use and transit the locks with a variety of vessels ranging from kayaks through to trimaran pedalos, none of which conform with Premier Marina Regulations from a safety standpoint.

They have attempted to deal with the requests on a case by case basis but it has become more and more of an issue so they have reviewed the current policy and re-assessed the risks. Following consultation with Insurers, they have decided that they will no longer accept vessels in the lock of a kayak or pedalo nature.
